JOSEPH P. SOLAKA
Director - Marketing & Business Development: Mr. Solaka has over 35 years of experience in the investment industry. His career has emphasis in the areas of public sector financing, management consulting, and capital markets. He was a senior advisor to the Governors of Michigan and Louisiana on economic development and pension fund issues. Before joining Gray & Company in 2011, he led the institutional division of Icon Advisers for 10 years. His primary responsibilities were to promote the management services and products among consultants and plan sponsors, in addition to providing the service needs of existing institutional clients and boards of trustees, which also included several public funds. Prior to Icon Advisers, Mr. Solaka worked with Zurich Investment, Scudder Investments and was founder and officer of Gulf Coast BIDCO (Business and Industrial Development Corporation), which provided mezzanine financing and Small Business Administration loans. Mr. Solaka received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University and holds FINRA Series 65 registration.
